About Us - the food experts bringing fun advice to you!

We are a team of Food Enthusiastics dedicating our time to researching and writing about the best way you can manage your Prepared Food – through reheating, storage, freezing, etc. Some of us are pretty adventurous and like to taste and write about unique and weird foods that no ordinary person can dream of; while, some of us like to focus our energy on bringing you Cooking Tips that save time, energy, and money. From time to time you will also find our jolly group sharing their experience with small kitchen appliances.

We jokingly call ourselves the band of foodie misfits as our experience spans from being professional chefs, globetrotters, to moms that have years of experience running their kitchens uber-efficiently. The one common element that binds us all is our passion for Food and our enthusiasm to simplify the experience for you.

Cooking is an art and what we eat and cook is bound to influence how we feel about things around us.

Meet the Team

Amy Smith is a passionate cook and writer!

Amy Smith

Founder/Editor-In-Chief

Ever since I was a little girl I have been passionate about food and realized that there is so much to learn and so many aspects to master.

I have 9 years of experience working in the Food and Beverage Industry and have worn many hats in the kitchen as a sous-chef, station chef, line cook, etc. I was given the opportunity to work at top Chicago-based restaurants including Cafe Marie-Jeanne, Girl, and the Goat, and Morton’s SteakHouse.

Most recently my love and passion for food led me to build Foodlve. Since then I haven’t stopped.

I’m also an unapologetic fast food addict and love finding ways to deliciously reheat my favorite meals!

When I’m not researching and writing for my blog, I’m walking my dog along the beach in my home town in Sarasota, Florida.

Olivia Harrison

Content Strategist/Contributor

Bonjour, Olivia here! I have had the opportunity of studying, working and spending my time in Paris for the past 7 years. I’m a professional Chef by training but also a health freak by nature. My passion for food led me to spending a lot of time understanding the science behind how food is cooked.

I’m a proponent of healthy eating and green living. When I was 23, I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes and since then I have used a clean and green diet to manage my health.  In this space I hope to bring you unique cooking tips and tricks and recipes that will help you live a more greener life.

Olivia Harrison is one of the most talented chefs we know! Born in Columbia, she moved to the US at 8 years old. Currently living in France, she is well versed in many different cuisines.
Stefanie Rohlowing, our brave weird food taster is a full time mom and very efficient in the kitchen

Stefanie Rohlowing

Contributor/Expert Taster

Hi, I’m Stefanie, you can call me Stef. I’m a recipe developer, food explorer, content creator and full time mom. Raising 3 kids has taught me to be very efficient with how I manage my kitchen and food that we cook. It breaks my heart to see food being wasted so over the years I have mastered the art of food preservation via reheating, storing, freezing and dehydrating. I’m excited to share my tips and tricks with you in this space.

I’m also a food explorer – What does that mean?  I like tasting different cuisines and different types of foods and sharing my experience with you 🙂

Mike Ruder

Contributor/Extreme Food Taster

Sup! Mike here. I’m a professional chef and globetrotter by day and extreme food taster by night. Growing up, my parents moved around a lot. I have lived in 12 different countries (5 of them in Asia). This experience influenced me to develop a unique palette, and I love trying unusual foods, from deep-fried ants to rocky mountain oysters. Read more about my unique encounters with Foods Unknown :). I also love to work out and create healthy shakes!

In addition to food, I’m passionate about travel and photography. Watch this space for more about that as well.

Mike Ruder, professional chef, food taster, traveler and photographer.
